Dell's First Adamo

Although the release of Dell’s first laptop in the Adamo line isn’t a huge shock thanks to the little tidbit we got earlier, at least we can now say it’s official. Dell has just announced its new dream machine — but it’s going to cost a pretty penny. For $1,999, you get a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM and a 128GB solid state drive. While you can easily find a decent notebook that packs far more punch than this Adamo model for a fraction of the price, it sure as hell won’t look anywhere near as sexy. The build quality should also be top-notch due to the fact that its chassis is milled and sculpted from a single sheet of aluminum (hmm, a trend that seems to be catching on). Hop to it if you’ve been holding out for one of these because pre-orders start today and deliveries begin March 26.

Dude, A Dell Mini For $399

Dell has officially engaged in some bean spilling on its Direct2Dell company blog in regards to the impending Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook. It’ll apparently be available for pre-order on QVC.com today (I can’t find it yet) and up on Dell.com next Thursday.

Apple Refreshes White Macbook

Apple has updated the White MacBook laptop with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor and NVIDIA’s new integrated graphics chip.

The 13.3-inch notebook, with the old white chassis made of polycarbonate, now features a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066MHz frontside bus and the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M IGP. The laptop had previously featured a Core 2 Duo at 2.1GHz, 800MHz FSB, and Intel’s GMA X3100 integrated GPU, but now has the same platform as the newly designed Macbook with aluminum unibody case.

Starting at $999, the refreshed White Macbook also includes up to 320GB of hard drive space, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a DVD burner, and a built-in iSight camera.

Other features include 802.11n WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, two USB ports, a Mini-DVI output, and a Firewire 400 port.

The 5-pound notebook provides up to 4.5 hours of wireless productivity on a single battery charge, according to the computer maker.

The White MacBook can be purchased through Apple’s online store.
